What You Want
From Psalm 40
Hope from Today’s Reading:
”My God, I want to do what you want. Your teachings are in my heart.” (Psalm 40:8 NCV)
I use these words as a prayer often. When I'm confused, when I'm unsure, when I'm wondering whether my flesh might be inadvertently winning the battle against my spirit, when I'm certain that's what's happening but don't have the strength or desire to shut it down, this is my prayer: "God, help me to want what You want."
Never forget, He is your Shepherd. He has His eye on you and the rest of His fold. What He wants is for you to do well (Matthew 25:21). And He gladly answers prayer.
