From Song of Solomon 8
Hope from Today’s Reading:
”Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it.” (Song of Solomon 8:7 ESV)
Whomever, whatever you love—the people, the dreams—I think you know: many things will get in your way. Many things will challenge you, make you want to quit. Some days, seeking, loving, and trying—for others, for yourself, for your dreams, future, hope, and faith—will feel like a chore, or a burden you’re not sure you can carry. But remember:
”Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7).
Whatever you’re up against, love can outlast it. For ”love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave” (Song of Solomon 8:6). Many things may slow you down, but they can’t stop you. Keep giving, sacrificing, hoping, believing, seeking. In other words, keep living and loving. How? Not by your own strength, friend, but in this: nothing and no one and no amount of earth-drenching waters can wash out God’s love for you (Romans 8:38-39).
